Appliances as Jewelry?

It can't be argued that appliances have become much more sleek and well-designed over the years, but did you ever think to yourself, "Gee, I wish they made a jewelry shaped like my refrigerator..." If not, you're definitely not alone.

However, someone did think to themselves that refrigerator jewelry would be cool and I have the proof. Check out some of these unique and strangely beautiful appliances as jewelry.

1. Antique Gold Refrigerator Charm, $3.99
I found this little refrigerator charm on Ebay. The seller only has a few of them, so if you have just realized this is the piece that's been missing from your charm bracelet you better act fast. Another refrigerator enthusiast could snap it up.

The main question that comes to mind when I look at this charm though isn't, "Why did someone fill the need to make a refrigerator charm?" But rather, "Why is the attached milk jug so large?" There's no way that milk could be expected to fit inside that fridge, so why include it?

What you can't see in this image is that the shelves inside the fridge (and on the door) are filled with little miniature carvings of food and bottles. It's definitely unique and a conversation piece.

You can purchase it from the Ebay seller here.

2. Solid Brass Iron Necklace, $16.00
If ironing has always been your favorite chore, then 1. you are crazy and 2. you definitely need this necklace.

While I abhor having to iron my wrinkled clothes, I can appreciate the detail in this little charm. The bottom even has markings for the holes on an iron, so that's pretty darn adorable.

If you would like to purchase this necklace for yourself, or know of someone who has been missing this their entire life (I'm going to recommend you NOT get this for your mom), you can find it on Etsy here.

3. Small Air Fan Necklace, $14.00
You might (or might not, since you are reading this blog) be surprised to know that vintage fans have a bit of a cult following. Do a Google search for antique fans and you'll probably find a few sites that just have galleries of old fans. Most notably, the Vornado brand fans seem to be the most popular for this, but I'm sure there are others.

If you happen to be a vintage fan collector or really enjoy good air circulation, then this is the necklace for you. Sadly the blades don't rotate, but everything else about this little charm is pretty nifty.

You can learn more about it and buy it here.

4. Blender Sterling Silver Necklace, $60.00
This necklace is slightly different from the rest in that it is way more expensive and it's a silhouette of a blender instead of a miniature charm of one. Maybe the fact that it's a little more difficult to discern that you're wearing an appliance is worth the extra dollars to you.

If you're unsure what to get the protein shake-aholic in your life, then look no further because I guarantee no one else will find them something more meaningful or creative.

You can pick up your own overpriced, yet very unique, blender necklace here, if you so desire.

5. Toaster Ring, $5.00
I think this is my favorite piece of appliance jewelry that I've found. I wouldn't buy it or wear it if I received it as a gift, it's just not my style, but I do like it. I only wish there were little pieces of bread inside of the toaster that you could push up and down with the side lever. Then I would probably be more inclined to wear this ring.

If you aren't as picky as me though, then please buy this ring and tell me how awesome it is. Also, tell me if it's heavy. It looks like it might cause some strain to the finger you place it on.

You can buy this awesome toaster ring here.

6. Cupcake Oven Charm, $58.00
I searched for an oven or stove charm and all I came up with was this Juice Couture cupcake oven, a potbelly stove and a cauldron. This one had the best pictures and made the most sense to place next to the rest of these products.

This charm is for the designer-label lover/cupcake obsessed. It sounds niche, but I'm sure you know a few people that fit into this category if you don't. And the best part is, it's couture and still cheaper than the blender necklace! Hey, $2 is still $2.

Have to have this cute little charm in your life? You can find it on the Juice Couture site here.
